Cloud Engineer at NASA - Johnson Space Center on the JETS II Contract
I am an instrument rated commercial pilot and I fly Cessna 172s. An instrument rating means is that I am able to fly through clouds and low-visibility conditions. Being a commercial pilot allows me to make money from my aviation (not fly for an airline, no matter how cool that would be). I began flying just before my Junior year of high school and have been hooked on it since. I did all my flight training near the New York Class B airspace (Newark, JFK, and LaGuardia within ~5 miles of one another) which gave me a lot of experience flying in busy, congested, and stressful situations.
I enjoy using various tools in wood and metal shops to make things. In the basement at home, we have a relatively well equipped wood shop. It has tools including a table saw, wood lathe, and drill press. At school I spend much of my free time in the machine shop making parts on a CNC mill or using a manual mill or lathe. Most of this is for the RIT Baja SAE team.
Cybersecurity Capture the Flag (CTF) is a type of event where participants are given challenges pertaining to various aspects of computing security such as web exploitation, steganography, and cryptography. I participated on the Jacobs CMS CTF team where we competed against other teams in virtual events around the world.
